Eileen, Jimmy, Jan, Chris, May and I rented Sea Wrack House near Ornsay Bay on the Isle of Skye. The views from the cottage were great but the nearby walks were relatively tame by Skye standards so we went further afield. Raasay was well worth the ferry trip with a glorious walk to the fossil beach.
So was the track to Strollamus through the Red Cullin with great views of Bla Bheinn. The High Pasture archaeological dig in Kilbride was also interesting as was the clear view of the notorious ‘Inn Pin’ which of course we have all climbed several times!
May and I finally made it to Loch Coruisk via boat from Elgol. It was not as impressive as I thought it would be. The Black Cullin are best viewed from afar. We saw the ‘Bad Step’ from the boat and agreed that we would never have made it.
